Symbol

Emblem
The circle means the letter 'ㅇ‘ of Yeongyang(영양). The Yin-yang mark symbolizes a red pepper, the special of the county and also shows passion that Yeongyang citizens have. Red, blue, green respectively represents red pepper, mountains, and water.

County Flower : Lotus
Lotus has been our favorite flower for thousands of years. It can be seen in a pond near a pavilion, on a pagoda, and in pictures in Korea. It grows in a pond, purifying the water and survives in any kind of environment. Its trait resembles that of Yeongtang citizens.

County Tree : Pine Tree
Pine tree is the most common tree in Yeongyang , 86 % of whose territory is mountains. Its greenness represents Yeongyang's hope and ambition.

County Bird : White Heron
White Herons is a summer seasonal bird which visits Korea in the middle of April. It can be seen near the river or in the field. Its white and clean fur represents righteousness of Confucian scholars.
Characters

Headoryeong and Dallangja
Headoryeong and Dallangja are the characters personalized to look more friendly and they represent the moon and sun which rise over Ilja-bong(Ilja peak) and Wolja-bong(Wolja peak) of Mt. Ilwol. They also symbolize hope and prosperity in Yeongyang.

Komi
Komi represents red pepper which grows in the clean environment in Yeongyang. The head symbolizes a red pepper and the body conveys the image of green nature. It is to promote Youngyang red pepper's high quality to visitors in a friendly way.

General Namyi
General Namyi was made based on the mythology of Seonbawi(Seon rock). This cute character will introduce Seonbawi in a more friendly way than before.

It represents nature in Yeongtang. It is used in an outdoor activity to learn about nature and an study on environment.

Namuri
Namuri is the character of Yeongyang Mountain Namul Festival. It was based on namul(herbs used in Korean sidedishes) in Mt. Ilwol.
Brand Emblem
The emblem represents sweet and spicy taste of Yeongyang red peppers. It also shows passion of the officials and citizens of Yeongyang.
